Thirty instruments across five benches. Each one answers a question the bench asks every day: what is it, what does it weigh, and how do I get the film off it.
Tanks and steamers
The machines that do the work: ultrasonic tanks that shake film off a whole basket at once, and boilers that put a jet of steam exactly where a brush cannot reach. We build both, and most benches end up running one of each.

Solutions and care
What goes in the tank and what happens after it comes out. Our concentrate is non ammoniated, our premeasured packets take the guesswork out of dosing, and the cloths, wands and baskets cover the pieces that never see a machine at all.

Scales
Two numbers matter on a scale and they are not the same one. Capacity is how much it will hold, readability is the smallest step it will show. Our carat models resolve to five thousandths of a carat, our gram models run up to six kilograms.

Testers
A tester answers one question quickly: is this what it claims to be. Our electronic gold and platinum testers read a karat band off a clean spot of metal, and our stone testers separate diamond from moissanite, white sapphire and CZ.

Nothing on this list is a guess once you have looked. Our Hastings triplet is the ten power standard the trade grades by, three cemented elements so the edge stays sharp and the colour stays honest, and our stereo microscope carries you to thirty.
