How we built it

A sensitive pulse sensor reads analog quartz movements directly through the caseback or dial without opening the timepiece or unbuckling the strap. We designed this compact benchtop diagnostic tool with dedicated load circuits for loose button cells alongside non-invasive movement verification. Visible LED signals and audible tones clearly confirm movement function and power status.

What it does on the bench

01

Movement Pulse Detection

Our sensitive sensor picks up quartz mechanical pulses whether the timepiece sits face up or face down. Bench technicians can isolate mechanical gear train problems from dead cells before ever opening the watch case.

02

Calibrated Load Circuits

Separate test contacts evaluate 1.55V silver oxide, 1.5V alkaline, and 3.0V lithium button cells under actual working loads. This dedicated circuitry prevents surface charge from giving a false reading on depleted power cells.

03

Strap Clearance Profile

We built the slim housing to slide directly under attached watch bands, saving time during intake. The compact footprint fits neatly on any crowded repair station or counter without requiring dedicated bench space.

04

Smart Power Management

A standard user-replaceable CR2430 battery runs the movement pulse sensor circuit. Integrated firmware automatically powers down the instrument after two minutes of non-use to preserve the internal testing cell.
